Bad North has 4 Troop types usable by the player. The unspecialised and unupgraded militia, the purely defensive but extremely competent Pikes, the versatile and all-rounder Infantry, and the potent ranged force - archers. In addition, each unit has a commander that uses melee, no matter the unit they command. In addition the bravery shown on the battlefield by units is due to their loyalty to you and to protect their wives and children.
