Infantry are upgraded Militia and usually the backbone of your army. They excel in defending against ranged attacks and fighting most enemies. They are well suited for offensive and defensive maneuvers. However, they are vulnerable to Brutes, and other large groups of melee enemies if on their own and are highly vulnerable if single troopers accidentally spread out of the formation and get attacked alone. They also cannot block ranged attacks if they are engaged in combat.

They can be upgraded to Veterans (level 2) for 12 Coin and Elite (level 3) for 20 Coin. Both ranks give Infantry more armor, damage, and slightly larger shields. Elite units can take an additional hit in melee before dying making them far more resilient. Due to their damage and armor, Elites can go toe to toe with even the Dual Wielders.

Infantry's unique ability is Plunge, which allows them to jump from cliffs and deal significant damage to enemies below.

Strengths[]

  • Perform well against any type of enemy in melee combat.
  • Equally well suited for offensive and defensive maneuvers.
  • Can block ranged attacks. (Do note that they can sometimes be head-shotted.)
  • With a Bomb or Warhammer and plunge, they can be made into a particularly mobile and versatile offensive threat that can handle most enemy types. With Plunge or an offensive item, they can also defeat large crowds of enemies quite easily making them a particularly useful offensive threat.

Weaknesses[]

  • Can't block attacks when engaged with melee units. This means attacks from multiple directions will damage them badly.
  • Perform rather badly against Brutes (This can be temporarily negated with a level 2 plunge).
  • Upgrading them to become strong offensive units takes up to 38 coins.
  • Requires careful timing to pull off offensive maneuvers.
  • Plunge can't be used on maps without any form of elevation.

Recommended items[]

  • Philosopher's Stone - Infantry can be used on any map so this item is best reserved for units that would benefit better from other items.
  • War Horn - Allows instant replenishment of Infantry in the field, very useful due to them often being in combat.
  • Jabena - Very useful for players who split their commanders to defend multiple islands in one turn, as it allows the same Infantry unit to be deployed twice in one turn.
  • Ring of Command - Allows attacking with an engaged group and the not engaged group to block arrows.
